Established in 2014, King’s Lynn MTB Club is a British Cycling affiliated cycling club for those that enjoy riding socially, competing or just being part of a group of like-minded people. Based in Norfolk the club’s main off-road terrain is Shouldham Warren. Many of our club members also ride the trails around Thetford Forest plus other local routes along the Nar Valley Way and Peddars Way. Regular trips away have been very popular, trail centers around the country, Manchester and Lee Valley Velodromes have been a positive experience for our members.
We organise rides to cater for every ability – from the mountain bike novice to the seasoned cross country racer. For all training and social rides we try to give plenty of notice before the event, with rides normally being posted on our Facebook page. For the 2015 season we organised various club events alongside hosting for the second year Round 1 of the Eastern Cross Country Series – Mud, Sweat and Gears, 2016 is looking like they may visit us at Shouldham again.
For the racers regular training rides at various locations both on and off road are offered. We don’t just ride during the day; in the darker months we go night riding (lights are a must!), which is an experience in itself, both on and off road.
On Friday mornings our more senior members /casual riders, ladies and gents meet at Shouldham Warren for a steady ride around the forest with lunch at the local pub in Shouldham, The Kings Arms.
We are always looking for helpers from volunteer’s to maintain and open up new trails to marshals helping out at our club events. This coming year, 2016, we have many dates set for events at Shouldham Warren, check out the club events page.

Not restricting to off road riding, King’s Lynn MTB Club members will often ride with The Sandringham and West Norfolk Cyclists Group (SWNC). SWNC are an informal group who enjoy cycling together. They are great supporters of King’s Lynn MTB Club with many of their members helping out at club events, from baking and donating cakes to marshalling during the race. Many of our club riders do enjoy riding on the road and SWNC are superb to ride out with. Their route organisers ensure all abilities are catered for with many organised rides from different locations, with tea and cake somewhere along the way.
